Woman, niece found dead under mysterious circumstances

Rourkela: A woman and her niece were found dead under mysterious circumstances in a house at Kalinga Vihar in Chhend Colony here on Wednesday.

The deceased were identified as Istar Lenka (48) and her 16-year-old niece Madhusmita Sahu.

Lenka, a teacher, was reportedly in a live-in relationship with one Braja Sundar Sahu following the death of her husband and both were residing in the house where the incident occurred.

There were injury marks on the head of the deceased. It is suspected that someone entered the house by breaking the window and killed them.

Though the exact reason behind the murder is yet to be known, some locals attributed it to possible past enmity.
