Bhubaneswar: While interior Odisha is in the grip of intense heat wave, the Met office has said that there will be a sharp rise in the day temperature in the coastal region in the next 48 hours.

An evening release by the Meteorological Centre, Bhubaneswar, on Wednesday said that the day temperature is most likely to cross 42 degree Celsius in the coastal region by May 25. Places like Bhubaneswar, Cuttack, Balasore, Chandbali and Baripada are also likely to bear the brunt of the gruelling heat wave. The Met office has also said that the temperature will have a steep rise of 7 degree Celsius in two days. Though there is a possibility of nor’wester (Kalabaisakhi) in some parts of the state, there will be no change in the weather condition as the heat wave will continue till May 27, the release said.
