Abhishek Bachchan On Papa & ‘Paa’ Amid Nepotism Debate
Mumbai: At a time when people are calling out the film industry for being a hub of nepotism, actor Abhishek Bachchan opened up about the help that he got from his father Amitabh Bachchan.
In an interview to IANS, Abhishek said that even as people troll him for being the son of a Bollywood legend, in reality, his father has never helped him to get a film or produced any film for him.
Contrary to the speculation, Junior B said that he too had a tough time before signing his first film, like any other newcomer.
Abhishek went on to say that while his dad never made any film for him, he financed R. Balki’s ‘Paa’ for him.
“The fact is he has never picked up the phone on anyone. He has never made a film for me. On the contrary, I have produced a film for him, called ‘Paa’,” Abhishek told IANS.
Abhishek is always targeted by haters for being a star kid. When both Big B and Junior B were hospitalized after testing positive for COVID-19, trollers took a dig at the latter by saying that who will he depend upon now as his father is sick.
“Your father admitted in hospital… Ab kiske bharose baith ke khaoge (who will feed you now)?” wrote one user.
To this, Abhishek replied, “Filhaal toh let ke kha rahe hain dono saath aspatal mein (right now both of us are being well fed at the hospital).”
The hater further wrote, “Get well soon sir… Har kisi ki kismat me let ke khana kaha (not everyone has the good fortune to be well taken care of).”
To this, junior B replied, “I pray that you are never in a situation like ours and that you remain safe and healthy. Thank you for your wishes, ma’am.”
