Academic Complex Inaugurated At IIT-Bhubaneswar

Bhubaneswar: The Pushpagiri Lecture Hall Complex and Rushikulya Hall of Residence were inaugurated at the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Bhubaneswar by Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan on Friday.

“Hon’ble Minister of Education has always been very supportive, visited the campus on numerous occasions and we are all encouraged and feel privileged to have him gracing the campus physically and spending some time interacting with the faculty staff and students,” IIT-Bhubaneswar Director Prof Raja Kumar said during his speech at the event.

A total of Rs 1,260 Crore was sanctioned for the creation of the institute infrastructure in two phases by the government of India so far. The institute is building a modern lecture hall complex incurring a cost of Rs 148 Crore with a floor area of 26,354 square metres.

Presently, the Lecture Hall Complex has three buildings with 40 lecture halls, each 60-seater. The facilities also include 20 120-seater halls and four 240-seater halls.
