Bhubaneswar: Kalinga Ghati in Odisha Kandhamal district has witnessed two bus accidents since Saturday night. These buses, carrying stranded migrant workers from Surat, were enroute Ganjam when the accidents took place leaving two dead and several injured.
Transport Minister Padmanabha Behera on Sunday said that accidents are occurring as the drivers are not acquainted with the route and lack experience of driving on hilly terrains. “Route for the buses ferrying people to Odisha from Surat will be changed,” he said.
The buses carrying migrants will now take the Boudh’s Madhapur route and enter Ganjam via Odaga in Nayagarh, he added.
