After Seizure Of Huge Cache Of Arms, Police Say Maoists Trying To Wage War Against Odisha

Malkangiri: A team of 27 Commandos of DVF, SOG and BSF led by Malkangiri SP Rishidesh D. Khillari reportedly thwarted attempts by the Maoists to expand their base in Odisha.

The exchange of fire between security force and Maoists in Malkangiri district  on January 15 evening has led to seizure of a huge cache of arms and other articles. The ultras, however, escaped under the cover of darkness.
An AK-47, 10 detonators, electric wire, cameras, electric extension cord, Battery Solar Panel, three pairs of uniform, medicines, Maoist literature, blankets, among other articles, were seized from the spot during the combing operation, police said in a press note.
“This seizure points to the fact that the outlawed CPI (Maoist) is trying to wage war against the state by attacking the security forces. Any such attempt would be dealt through action as per law,” it added.
The anti-Maoist operation was launched on the basis of intelligence inputs on movement of 15 to 20 armed cadres of Maoists in Goegurha-Uttamgurha area under Mudulipada police limits.
