Jharsuguda: Quick thinking by a railway assistant sub-inspector, CS Azad, saved the life of a man in Odisha’s Jharsuguda railway station after he slipped and fell while trying to board a moving train.
The incident took place on Friday around 1.50 am when Hatia-LTTE Express was leaving platform 1 of the station and a male passenger attempted to board the moving train. However, he lost his balance, fell down, and slipped into the gap between the train and the platform. Seeing this, the alert RPF officer rushed towards the man and pulled him to safety.
The passenger was identified as Suresh Jasuja (54), a resident of Sundargarh district. He was boarding the train to Raipur.
Railways commended the policeman for his for his prompt action in preventing a potential tragedy.
