New Delhi: Alia Bhatt, who is basking in the glory of the success of Brahmastra and glowing during pregnancy, is all set to launch her own maternity clothing line. She has already made a mark with her mom-t0-be outfits during the promotions of Brahmastra.
The actress took to Instagram on Friday to announce the same and also explained what led to the decision.
Her move to introduce a bump-friendly maternity fashion line, she said, comes after she felt “overwhelmed” while buying clothes for herself during pregnancy. “You don’t know how you’re going to look or feel over the next few months and let’s be honest, not being able to find the right thing to wear can be stressful,” she wrote in the note.
The actress also hinted that she had to compromise on her sense of style during pregnancy. “Do I buy brands I already wear but in a bigger size? Should I raid Ranbir’s wardrobe? And just because my body is changing doesn’t mean my sense of style has to, right?,” she added.
“I added elastic to my favourite jeans, designed shirts that I didn’t have to share with my husband, and wore flowy dresses so as to not invite any unwanted belly-touching. Comfort took priority over any ‘airport looks’. What started off as me trying to fill a gap in my existing wardrobe, led to an entire maternity collection. And I can’t wait to give you a sneak peek tomorrow,” she added.
Alia already has her own kids-clothing brand Ed-a-Mamma which she launched in 2020. She has not shared details of her maternity line yet.
