Balasore: Three persons died and as many were seriously injured when an ambulance in which they were travelling collided with a truck on NH-16 near Dahisada in Balasore district on Friday morning.
The ambulance, carrying a patient and his relatives from Bardhaman district in West Bengal, was heading towards SCB Medical College and Hospital in Cuttack when the accident took place.
The collision was so severe that three persons, including the ambulance driver, died on the spot. The injured persons were admitted to a local hospital.
The ambulance was speeding down the road and the accident occurred when the driver lost control over the vehicle, police sources said.
