Amitabh Bachchan & Dilip Kumar’s ‘Shakti’ To Be Remade!

Mumbai: Bollywood filmmaker Shree Narayan Singh, who has directed films such as ‘Toilet: Ek Prem Katha’ and ‘Batti Gul Meter Chalu’ is mulling remaking Amitabh Bachchan and Dillip Kumar’s blockbuster movie ‘Shakti’.

According to a report in Mumbai Mirror, Singh has been working on the film for the last two years and it may be on floors next year.

“I have been penning the script for the last two years with Anjum Rajabali and Saumya Joshi. It’s a huge responsibility, which is why we are taking time to finalise the script, even though ours is more of an adaptation than a remake. The idea is to take the film on floors by next year,” Shree Narayan Singh told Mumbai Mirror.

The 1988 movie ‘Shakti’, starring Amitabh Bachchan, Dilip Kumar, Smita Patil, Raakhee and Amrish Puri in key roles, had won four Filmfare Awards including Best Film, Best Screenplay, Best Sound Editing.

Big B and Dilip Kumar were both nominated for the ‘Best Actor’ category and the latter bagged the trophy.

Earlier, Big B’s ‘Agneepath’ and ‘Don’ were presented in a new avtaar and they fared well at the box-office.
