Bhubaneswar: Drama, dance and music marked ‘Amity-2025’, the annual fest of the School of Pharmaceutical Sciences (SPS), faculty of pharmaceutical sciences of Siksha ‘O’ Anusandhan Deemed to be University in Bhubaneswar.
The two-day festival, which was inaugurated on February 21 by Debajyoti Das, Dean of the institution, was attended by several dignitaries including Shyambabu Senapati, President of Sapigen Biologix, Bharat Biotech International.
Senapati spoke about the transformation which had taken place in the pharmacy profession till now while urging the students to acquire subject knowledge for improvement in their leadership skills. He said focus and responsibility were key factors in the field of good product development as well as patient care.
A K Samantaray, Pro-Vice Chancellor of SOA, who attended as guest of honour, spoke on the need to focus on excellence to achieve success.
In his welcome address, Das outlined the courses being taught in the institution and their prospects.
Odia poet Susama Mishra, who graced the occasion as chief speaker, underlined the importance of the International Mother Language Day observed on the day. She urged students to explore the cultural leanings within themselves. She also praised pharmacists for their patience in the field of patient care.
Presiding over the programme, Vice-Chancellor of SOA P K Nanda explained the significance of self-evolution.
Dean (Students’ Welfare) Jyoti Ranjan Das encouraged the students to seek success and attain more fame. ‘Aaron-2025’ annual magazine of the institute was also unveiled on the occasion.
The celebration concluded with the felicitation of winners of various competitions and cultural events organised by the students. A star night on the concluding day was the main attraction.
