Lahore: An earthquake measuring 4.4 on the Richter scale struck Pakistan on Thursday.
The epicentre was reported to be near Multan, in Punjab province, according to National Centre for Seismology.
The earthquake originated at a depth of 10 kilometres, and struck at around 4.05 pm (IST).
There are no reports of loss of lives or major damage to properties as of now.
Pakistan has been rocked by multiple earthquakes recently, the previous one being of 4.2 magnitude, in Faisalabad subdivision on Tuesday.
Thursday’s quake was the sixth one in May alone.
The heightened seismic activities have triggered a lot of talk, especially as the series of tremors comes after heightened tensions with India.
There has been speculation that India’s missile strikes at several airbases also hit close to Kirana Hills, which reportedly is home to Pakistan’s nuclear arsenal.
