Aparajita Sarangi Gets VRS Green Light From Centre, Likely To Join BJP Soon
Bhubaneswar: All decks have been cleared for senior IAS officer Aparajita Sarangi to join politics with the Centre consenting to her application for voluntary retirement from service (VRS) on Friday.
Announcing this on her official Twitter handle, the 1994 batch Odisha cadre IAS officer said, “I look forward to the next journey with enthusiasm, positivity and optimism.”
I just received my order finally approved by our Hon’ble Prime Minister today. I am grateful to him for his kind acceptance and approval.

She will soon join the BJP, sources said.
On Wednesday, the Odisha government had given the go ahead to her VRS application. She had applied for it on September 15.
Sarangi was serving as joint secretary (MGNREGA), Ministry of Rural Development, and her five-year tenure on central deputation had ended in August.
Though a native of Bihar, 49-year-old Sarangi is married to her batchmate Santosh Sarangi.
