Archana Nag Case: Court Directs Close Aide Shradhanjali To Appear On Feb 7

Cuttack: Honeytrap racket mastermind Archana Nag’s close associate Shradhanjali Behera failed to appear before the special Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA) court citing health issues on Tuesday.

According to sources, the court rescheduled the date of hearing and directed her to appear before it on February 7 after Shradhanjali’s lawyer submitted the application about her illness.

Meanwhile, Khageswar Patra, another associate of Nag, filed a bail application at the district court on the day.

It is pertinent to mention here that the Orissa High Court had refused to grant an anticipatory bail to Shradhanjali on January 17. She had submitted the bail application apprehending arrest in the sex and extortion case after being named as an accused in the chargesheet filed by the Enforcement Directorate (ED).

The ED, which is investigating the financial transactions in the sextortion racket, has named Shradhanjali as an accused along with Archana, her husband Jagabandhu Chand and Khageswar in the case filed under Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA).
