Bhubaneswar: Ashok Kumar Panda has assumed office as director (finance) of SAIL, a statement by Rourkela Steel Plant said.
“Widely regarded for his financial & technical knowledge and proactive approach, his expertise spans financial accounting, costing & budgeting, business planning, treasury operations, taxation and strategic management,” it added.
Prior to this, he was Executive Director, Finance.
Panda, who took charge on April 30, began his career at SAIL in 1992 as a Management Trainee after completing his BE in Electrical Engineering. Helater completed his Full-Time PGDM with specialisation in Finance from XIM, Bhubaneshwar, and acquired a PhD in Business Finance.
Panda has played a pivotal role in strengthening SAIL’s financial position, spearheading key initiatives such as e-invoicing implementation and introducing digital invoicing across SAIL units to enhance transparency and efficiency. He has also served as a nominee director on the boards of several joint venture and subsidiary companies of SAIL.
