Bhubaneswar: Odisha Vigilance sleuths on Tuesday launched simultaneous searches at seven locations linked to Umakant Samantaray, Assistant Director of Factories and Boilers, Sambalpur, on charges of possessing assets disproportionate (DA) to his known sources of income.
The searches are being conducted by a team comprising 8 DSPs, 11 Inspectors, 11 ASIs and other supporting staff on the strength of search warrants issued by the Special Judge, Vigilance, Sambalpur.
According to Vigilance, searches are underway at the following places:
1. Residential 3BHK flat in Sun City Apartment, Dhankauda, Sambalpur
2. Duplex at Nandan Vihar, Nandankanan Road, Bhubaneswar
3. Building near Indus College of Engineering at Barakuda (near Jatani), Bhubaneswar
4. Triple-storeyed building at Tota Behera Sahi, Baliguali, Puri
5. Double-storeyed building at Subash Marg, Balugaon, Khordha
6. Double-storeyed building at his native place at Ashok Nagar, Balugaon, Khordha
7. His office chamber in the office of Deputy Director, Factories and Boilers, Sambalpur
The searches are continuing and further details are awaited.
