Bhubaneswar: A pilot automated system for land conversion, from lease hold to free hold, in Rourkela Municipality Corporation (RMC) was launched by Chief Secretary Suresh Chandra Mahapatra on Tuesday.
The system was inaugurated through the digital mode from Lok Seva Bhawan in the presence of Principal Secretary, Revenue and Disaster Management, Bishnupada Sethi, Sundargarh Collector Nikhil Pavan Kalyan and other dignitaries.
While complementing Rourkela Municipality and district administration for application of a progressive technological intervention, Mahapatra directed them to make the system more citizen-centric by the reducing the burden of document compliances at the time of submission of application.
He directed them to examine the possibilities of substituting affidavits, indemnity with self-declaration. Linking the system with Jana Seva Kendras and common service centers was also stressed to enable citizens submit applications from those points. Online submission of application and fee collection from individual was also stressed.
Sethi said the system would be customised and updated as per feedback from users and stakeholders.
The collector said on submission of the application, office of the Additional District Magistrate would process it through online system after verification. Online payment mode of court fees would be integrated with the system, he added.
Verification of the applications at different offices like Tehsils and Rourkela Development Authority will be done through the online system. Execution of the conversion deed and intimation to Tehsil in Form No-6 will also be done online.
Additional District Magistrate, Rourkela, Dibyajyoti Parida presented operational details of the online system.
