Sambalpur: A dawn-to-dusk bandh by locals affected normal life at Bamara in Sambalpur district on Friday. They were protesting against the deteriorating healthcare services in their locality.
Most shops, markets and business establishments downed shutters while buses and other vehicles stayed off the road during the strike.
The agitators, who staged road blockades and demonstrations at several places, alleged that we were forced to take to the streets as the district administration failed to fulfil their genuine grievances despite repeated requests.
“We demand immediate appointment of permanent doctors, availability of medicines and other essential equipment at Gobindpur community health centre,” a agitator said.
