BEd Trainee Teachers Showcase Their Creativity At Art Show ‘Kalakriti’ In Berhampur

Berhampur: The BEd teacher-trainees of the School of Education (SOE) Berhampur University showcased their creativity at the art exhibition ‘Kalakriti’ in Berhampur of Odisha’s Ganjam district.

The teacher-trainees created artefacts using waste and unused materials reflecting the essence of life at the one-day annual exhibition organised by the SOE Berhampur University on January 31. Their drawings on various subjects were also on display.

“The art exhibition shows how the teacher-trainees are also good at art. The exhibition, which is open to the public especially the school students, would enlighten them about the way of life and create interest in them,” said Prof Geetanjali Dash, vice-chancellor of Berhampur University who inaugurated the event.

“The main objective of the event was to boost the talent of a budding teacher and also inspire the students who are interested in visual art. It is a part of the course in BEd with 50 marks for the project,” said Prof Sarat Kumar Sahoo, Principal, SOE who along with Art teacher Rabindranath Swain supervised the exhibition.

Around 50 trainees are studying each in 1st and 2nd year BEd in SOE, which was established in 2016. Hundreds of drawings, paintings and artefacts were on display at the ‘Kalakriti’ which was open from 10 am to 5.30 pm.

“The artefacts displayed at the exhibition every year are kept in the SOE to enable the future students to boost their creativity and we adhere to no repetition,” said the principal SOE.
