Bhubaneswar: The twin cities of Odisha saw a slight dip in the minimum temperature on Friday, according to the India Meteorological Department (IMD).
Bhubaneswar and Cuttack recorded 12.8°C and 12.4°C respectively, compared to 13.9°C and 13.4°C the previous day.
G Udayagiri, a hill station in Kandhamal, was the coldest place in the state at 4.3°C, followed closely by Semiliguda in Koraput at 4.5°C. The other places, where mercury plummeted below 10°C, include Phulbani and Daringbadi, also in Kandhamal, at 6.5°C and 7°C respectively, Koraput (6.7°C), Chiplima in Sambalpur (7.5°C), Jharsuguda (8.2°C), Angul (9°C), Nabarangpur (9°C), Boudh (9.4°C), and Bhawanipatna and Rourkela at 9.6°C each.
Though the weather agency has forecast no large change in the night temperature during the next 6-7 days, the mercury may hover around 13-14°C in Bhubaneswar and Cuttack during this period.
Yellow warning of dense fog has also been issued for one or two places in the districts of Sundargarh, Jharsuguda, Kandhamal & Sambalpur till December 21 morning.
