Bhubaneswar EIRC Branch Of ICAI Hosts MSME Summit
Bhubaneswar: The Bhubaneswar branch of Eastern India Regional Council (EIRC) of The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) organised an MSME Summit at Hotel New Marrion here on Saturday.
The summit was attended by around 175 chartered accountants and over 100 representatives from Odisha government’s MSME department, who took part in a knowledge intensive and interactive session.
The programme was inaugurated by chief guest Pratap Keshari Deb, Odisha’s Minister for MSME and guest of honour Saswata Mishra, Principal Secretary, Department of MSME.
Among others present were ICAI vice-president Ranjeet Kumar Agarwal; chairman of committee on MSME & Start-Up ICAI Dheeraj Kumar Khandelwal; vice-chairman of committee on MSME & Start-Up ICAI Dr Raj Chawla; chairman of EIRC Bhubaneswar branch Pradip Kumar Sahoo; and secretary of EIRC Bhubaneswar branch Mahendra Kumar Sahoo.
A MOU was signed and exchanged between ICAI through committee on MSME & Startup and Odisha government’s MSME department.
Addressing the gathering, Cabinet minister PK Deb spoke about the growth trajectory of MSMEs in Odisha, while Principal Secretary (MSME) Mishra elaborated on capacity building of MSMEs with the aid of state government.
“ICAI is responsive to the emerging challenges faced by the MSMEs & startups. To address the issues faced by them, ICAI will be taking a number of initiatives to strengthen and develop their capacity in order to enhance their competence and improve their visibility amongst the business community. The Institute will develop and provide capacity building measures for the enhancement of the portfolio of MSMEs & Startups,” said ICAI vice-president RK Agarwal.
The programme was coordinated by managing committee members of Bhubaneswar, Brahmapur, Cuttack, Jharsuguda, Rourkela and Sambalpur branches of Odisha.
