Though there was a marginal fluctuation in temperature in the interior region of the state, the entire coastal belt witnessed a steady rise in mercury.
While Bhubaneswar was the hottest at 42.3 degree Celsius, six other places where the temperature crossed 40 degrees are Chandbali (40), Cuttack (40.2), Angul (41.3), Baripada (40.4), Bhawanipatna (40.2) and Balangir (40.6).
