Bhubaneswar’s Akash Institute Blames Fake Bank Account For Rs 1.24 Crore Fraud

Bhubaneswar: Akash Institute in the city has rebuffed the charge of defrauding a private firm of Rs 1.24 crore and instead blamed a fake bank account for it.

“We have come to know from the bank that a fake account in the name of Akash Educational Services has been opened. The account has no authorised signatory,” Director of Akash Institute in Bhubaneswar AB Singh told the media.

The clarification came after the private firm, A6 Entertainment, lodged a complaint at Kharavela Nagar police station in the city against the institute and a liaison official named Subham Mohanty.

The complaint was lodged by one Subash Chandra Dash. He told police that the company had carried out several promotional works such as advertisements, animations and webinars for the institute but it had not been paid for the past several months.

The unpaid money now amounted to Rs 1.24 crore, but neither Akash Institute nor the liaison official were paying heed to the issue, he alleged.
