Bhushan Steel To Construct Concrete Road For Periphery Villages Near Plant

Dhenkanal: Bhushan Steel Limited (BSL), a group company of Tata Steel,
will construct a seven-km-long cement concrete road connecting NH-55
to eight villages around its plant at Kantabania in Dhenkanal district.

Singhal laid the foundation stone for the road on Friday at Sarpa village, adjacent to the plant. Commending Bhushan Steel for the initiative, Nayak said this all-weather road was a long pending demand and it will be a boon for the local villagers to reach NH-55, particularly during the rainy season. To be built at a cost of Rs 6.11 crore, linking NH-55 to Sarpa village, the road will also have a one km long drain along its side as per the requirement.

Around 7,000 villagers from eight villages around the plant including Talabahal, Gantigadia, Sarpa, Raghunathpur, Badibahal, Khaliberena,
Kankalu and Paikapurunakote will benefit from it.

After takeover of Bhushan Steel, as part of its corporate social responsibility initiatives, Tata Steel is constructing two Model Schools in Hindol and Odapada block of Dhenkanal district at a cost of Rs 10 crore.
