Big Jump: New COVID-19 Cases Cross 6K In Odisha; 1132 From Khurda
Bhubaneswar: The daily COVID-19 caseload breached the 6000-mark on Thursday as Odisha saw the highest-ever spike of 6164 new infections in the last 24 hours.
The state had been reporting over 40,00 cases for the past two days.
According to the I & PR department, these fresh cases have been reported from all 30 districts. Among them, 3575 are from quarantine: and 2589 local contact cases.
Khurda registered the highest number of 1132 cases followed by Nuapada (459), Kalahandi (452) and Sundargarh (427).

These cases have been detected from 44,983 samples tested for COVID-19, which has pushed the daily positivity rate in the state to 13.7 per cent from 12.58 the previous day.
With this, Odisha now has 35,075 active cases.
