Bill Clerk Caught Taking Bribe In Odisha’s Sambalpur
Sambalpur: Vigilance sleuths arrested a government clerk for allegedly taking bribe in Sambalpur district on Tuesday.
The accused was identified as Sibaram Moharana, who is employed as a bill clerk at the office of DI PRO, Sambalpur.
According to a Vigilance release, one Debananda Ranbida, who is a driver at the office, had approached Moharana for withdrawal of suspension allowance for May. However, Moharana demanded bribe from Ranbida to get his work done.
Following this, Ranbida lodged a complaint with the Vigilance department. A trap was laid and Moharana was caught red-handed while taking the money from the complainant.
Vigilance sleuths said Moharana’s hand wash and chemical examination of the notes have confirmed he accepted the bribe money.
