BJD Sweeps Hindol, Attabira NAC Polls

Bhubaneswar: The ruling Biju Janata Dal made a clean sweep in the NAC elections results of which were announced on Thursday.

While in Attabira NAC of Bargarh district, the BJD won in all the 12 wards, in Hindol NAC of Dhenkanal district, out of 16 wards, it won 13 seats while the BJP and the Independents managed to win one and two seats respectively.

Results in the Attabira NAC polls are as follows:

Ward No-1 Santosini Makwana
Ward No-2 Raghunath Barik
Ward No-3 Deepanjali Borasagar
Ward No-4 Tribiram Das
Ward No-5 Jyotirmayee Gadatia
Ward No-6 Banamali Bariha
Ward No-7 Jyotirmayee Das
Ward No-8 Manoj Kumar Pradhan
Ward No-9 Arati Nayak
Ward No-10 Sureswari Pandey
Ward No-11 Prakash Pradhan
Ward No-12 Gunia Sahu

Results in the Hindol NAC polls are as follows:

Ward No-1 Rita Palei (BJD)
Ward No-2 Pradip Kumar Behera (BJD)
Ward No-3 Inayatullah Khan (Independent)
Ward No-4 Tapan Kumar Parida (BJD)
Ward No-5 Rina Behera (BJD)
Ward No-6 Subash Chandra Behera (BJD)
Ward No-7 Palau Dehuri (BJD)
Ward No-8 Rashmita Sahu (BJD)
Ward No-9 Labanga Dei (BJD)
Ward No-10 Shymaghana Behera (Independent)
Ward No-11 Pradyumna Kumar Behera (BJD)
Ward No-12 Tima Behera (BJD)
Ward No-13 Basumati Sahu (BJD)
Ward No-14 Bijaya Das (BJD)
Ward No-15 Ramesh Chandra Sahu (BJD)
Ward No-16 Bijaya Pradhan (BJP)

About 13,205 voters had exercised their franchise in 13 booths for a total of 12 wards in Attbira NAC to determine the fate of 38 candidates. This is for the second time that the polling was conducted in Attabira NAC after it got the NAC status on April 3, 2012.

In Hindol NAC, polling was held in 16 booths for a total of 16 wards. A total of 9407 voters had exercised their franchise. Out of 16 booths, separate booths were set up in three wards for the women to cast their votes.
