Bhubaneswar: The BJP Mahila Morcha took out a mass rally from the party headquarters to Mahatma Gandhi Marg here on Monday to protest against the rising incidents of crime against women in the state.

Holding placards and banners in hand, the party activists staged a demonstration after reaching Mahatma Gandhi Marg where they shouted slogans against the state government for its alleged failure to provide security to women, particularly minor girls across the state.

“The graph of violence against women has gone up in the state as the government machinery has completely failed to maintain law and order,” one of the agitators said.

Meanwhile, BJP national secretary Suresh Pujari informed that the party has decided to launch ‘Mahila Surakshya Abhiyan’ from May 17 to 27 against the increase in incidents of crime against women.
