Punjab: The BJP Chitrapat Kamgar Aghaadi has demanded a ban on the release of Diljit Dosanjh’s upcoming Punjabi film ‘Sardar Ji 3’, which also features Pakistani actors Hania Aamir, Nasir Chinyoti, Daniel Khawar and Saleem Albela.
In the wake of recent geopolitical tensions between the two countries, the organisation has urged the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) to deny the film a censor certificate and prevent its release in theatres across India.
Voicing serious concerns over the collaboration with Pakistani artists after the deadly Pahalgam teror attack, the organisation said in a statement, “We strongly oppose any Pakistani artiste being associated with Indian cinema. It is the demand of the BJP Chitrapat Kamgar Union that Sardar Ji 3 should not be allowed to receive a censor certificate. This is not just a political issue — it is about national sentiment and the dignity of our country.”
“Pakistan has openly declared India its enemy, and yet we continue to open doors for their artistes and entertainers. This is unacceptable. As representatives of the Indian film industry’s workers and technicians, we cannot stand by and allow this to happen,” the BJP labour union added.
On April 22, terrorists attacked civilians in the Baisaran valley in Pahalgam, and gunned down 26 men.
India avenged the Pahalgam massacre by launching Operation Sindoor, destroying nine terror hubs in Pakistan and PoK. Pakistan then launched drones and missiles targeting several Indian cities, after which India hit Pakistani airbases.
