BMC Dumps Garbage In Front Of Hotel In Bhubaneswar; Know Why
Bhubaneswar: A hotel near Kalpana Square in Odisha capital has to face the heat for littering the road as a tractor dumped waste at its entrance on Thursday in presence of Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) Commissioner Vijay Amruta Kulange.
“This is going unbated despite a provision to collect garbage by spending special vehicle on ‘Safa Bhubaneswar’ app. People are tweeting on social media saying BMC is not collecting garbage. All efforts are being made by the corporators and civic body officials to keep the city clean. Strict action will be taken again hotels and traders if they don’t cooperate,” the Commissioner warned.
He further said that this was done to send a strong message to the public. “We are ready to provide the service, so kindly cooperate,” he added.
The hotel in ward no-56 of Kalpana area was later closed for dumping garbage along the road.
The hotel owner admitted that it was a mistake on his part.
