Mumbai: An old video showing deceased BMW driver Shanay Gajjar arguing with another motorist after a collision on Mumbai’s Coastal Road has resurfaced online, months after the incident.
The footage was recorded on March 29, when Gajjar’s BMW allegedly struck a vehicle in which Tardeo resident Omkar Shirke and his wife were travelling.
Shirke subsequently approached the Gamdevi police station and lodged a complaint regarding the collision. He had also filmed the exchange that followed the incident.
In the video, Shirke is heard questioning the BMW driver after the vehicles collided. Gajjar is seen responding, “What are you doing?” His tone was perceived by Shirke as rude.
Fatal Crash On Sunday
The BMW was involved in another incident on Sunday, this time resulting in three deaths after it plunged from Mumbai’s Coastal Road.
The crash occurred at around 5 am as the black BMW was travelling from Marine Drive towards Haji Ali. The Coastal Road Control Room said the driver lost control of the vehicle.
The car broke through the side of the elevated stretch of Coastal Road and plunged into a construction site below. CCTV footage captured the vehicle becoming airborne before crashing into the site, as reported by India Today.
Three people travelling in the car died in the accident. A fourth passenger, an unidentified man believed to be around 20 years old, sustained severe injuries.
He was taken to a hospital’s trauma ward and continues to remain in critical condition.
March Crash In Focus
The complaint filed by Shirke in connection with the March collision has gained renewed attention following the fatal crash involving the same vehicle.
The video recorded after the earlier accident has also been widely shared on social media. It shows Shirke speaking to Gajjar after the BMW collided with the couple’s vehicle.
Police are examining the circumstances that led to Sunday’s crash, including the reason the BMW went out of control on the elevated road. More information is awaited.
