Jaipur: A bomb threat email was received at Sawai Mansingh (SMS) Stadium here on Monday.
This comes two days after a similar bomb threat to blow up the Holkar Stadium in Indore.
According to Jaipur’s Additional SP Lalit Sharma, Monday’s threat was sent to the official email ID of the Sports Council.
No match was underway, and the staff and officials were immediately evacuated from the stadium.
The Bomb Disposal squad, with the help of the Dog squad, visited the site and are conducting an investigation,” the police officer said.
The SMS Stadium, which is Rajasthan Royals’ home venue, hosted four games in IPL 2025 before the tournament was suspended for a week due to the India-Pakistan conflict. Jaipur is scheduled to stage one more game of the league phase. The resumption date of IPL and revised fixtures are expected to be announced soon.
As for the Indore stadium bomb threat, it was sent to Madhya Pradesh Cricket Association (MPCA) on Saturday.
Whoever was present at the ground and MPCA office complex were evacuated from Holkar Stadium, police said.
“We received information from the Madhya Pradesh Cricket Association (MPCA) office that they had received an email threatening to blow up the Holkar Stadium,” Tukoganj police station in-charge Jitendra Singh Yadav told PTI.
On investigation, no suspicious object was found at the stadium.
The police official said MPCA had received a similar email on May 9, but it turned out to be a hoax.
