Brawl At Gurukrupa Ashram In Puri: Another Inmate Succumbs To Injuries
Puri: Another inmate of Gurukrupa Ashram in Odisha’s Puri district, who was critically injured during a brawl two days ago, succumbed to his injuries.
According to sources, Baba Dayanadhi died on Saturday night while undergoing treatment at the SCB Medical College and Hospital in Cuttack.
Another inmate, Baba Vishnu Das had picked up a fight with another sadhu of the ashram located on Loknath Road under the jurisdiction of Baselisahi police station on Friday. Vishnu Das allegedly attacked Baba Arjun Das with a wooden plank, killing him on the spot.
Terrified after witnessing the scene, Baba Dayanidhi cried for help. Infuriated by this, Baba Vishnu Das attacked him with the wooden club. Baba Dayanidhi was rescued by local residents and taken to hospital.
While the police detained Baba Vishnu Das, Baba Dayanidhi was first taken to a hospital in Puri. He was later shifted to the SCB Medical College and Hospital in Cuttack as his condition worsened.
The police have sent the body of Baba Dayanidhi for postmortem and launched an investigation into the matter.
