Bhubaneswar: The Commissionerate Police has announced strict guidelines and regulations for bursting of firecrackers in Bhubaneswar during Diwali celebrations.
According to DCP Jagmohan Meena, the residents of Bhubaneswar have been asked to burst crackers for two hours from 7 pm to 9 pm on Diwali. The deadline for fireworks has been set as 9 pm, an hour earlier than the previous years.
A warning has also been issued that any person driving under the influence of alcohol during the festival will face vehicle seizure and arrest. The directive aims to prevent accidents and ensure public safety during the celebrations.
While patrol teams will be deployed across all police station jurisdictions, the Commissionerate Police has issued an awareness message to residents, emphasising compliance with the regulations to maintain a safe and orderly Diwali.
The aim is to balance festive celebrations with public safety, ensuring that residents can enjoy Diwali while adhering to legal guidelines regarding noise and pollution.
