New Delhi: Rahul Gandhi has been extremely vocal on the NEET-UG paper leak issue over the last few weeks, attacking the Narendra Modi-helmed government left, right and centre.
On Tuesday, it was the turn of Rahul’s sister Priyanka Gandhi Vadra to take up the cudgels for the Opposition.
The Lok Sabha MP Wayanad launched a sharp attack on the Centre during the debate in Parliament on the Anti-Paper Leak Bill, accusing it of ignoring concerns of students while focusing on optics.
Taking a sharp swipe at the Prime Minister, Priyanka said changing camera angles won’t help the government reconnect with young people, referring to Modi’s recent selfie videos.
“If you want to win back the confidence of Gen-Z, making videos from different camera angles will not work. Camera nahi, dil ka angle badaliye (Don’t change the camera angle, change the angle of your heart),” Priyanka, drawing loud approval from the Opposition benches.

She questioned the government’s handling of repeated paper leaks in key national-level exams and the nationwide protests that followed the cancellation of the NEET-UG exam held in May.
Priyanka said students had approached the government with only a handful of demands — reform the exam system, crack down on paper leak mafias, hold those responsible accountable, seek the resignation of the minister under whose tenure the alleged irregularities occurred, and ensure justice for students who faced police action during protests.
“These troubled students placed their hopes in you. Their demands were simple, that the repeated injustices due to paper leaks end, the system be reformed, and those responsible be punished,” Sonia said.
She claimed that recent crises had devastated millions of families. “In the last decade, 152 paper leaks have taken place, affecting 7.5 crore students, but not a single guilty person or paper leak mafia has been punished,” Priyanka said.
She also questioned the government’s response to student protests, flagging the use of force against demonstrators.
“What was the need to use tear gas, lathicharge students and use water cannons? What was the need to humiliate young women and treat them so brutally? Were they terrorists?” she asked.
She demanded an answer from the government as to who authorised the use of pellet guns against protesters.
