CBI Arrests Delhi Deputy CM Manish Sisodia In Liquor Policy Case

New Delhi: Delhi deputy CM Manish Sisodia was on Sunday evening arrested by Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) in the Delhi liquor policy case.

Sisodia was taken into custody after being questioned by the central agency for 8 hours, starting from around 11.15 am.

Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) slammed the arrest of Sisodia as “a black day of democracy”.

Before leaving for CBI office, Sisodia had expressed apprehension of his arrest today.

“Going to CBI again today.. will cooperate fully in the entire investigation. The love of lakhs of children and the blessings of crores of countrymen are with us. I don’t care if I have to stay in jail for a few months. I am a follower of Bhagat Singh who was hanged for the country. It is a small thing to go to jail because of such false allegations,” Sisodia tweeted at 8.52 am on Sunday.

Delhi CM and AAP chief Arvind Kejriwal had a similar feeling and assured Sisodia that the party would take care of his family if he was arrested.
