Kolkata: The Central Board of Secondary Education has declared the Class 12 board examination results for 2026, with the overall pass percentage dropping to 85.20 per cent from last year’s 88.39 per cent, according to official data released on Wednesday. According to reports, Bhubaneswar region records a pass percentage of 81.71 per cent.

Reports claimed as many as 1,780,365 students registered for the Class 12 examinations in 2026. Of these, 1,768,968 students appeared for the exams. Among the candidates, 1,507,109 students have been declared successful.

Girls once again outperformed boys in the examinations, recording a pass percentage of 88.86 per cent compared to 82.13 per cent among boys — a gap of 6.73 percentage points. More than 18 lakh students had appeared for the CBSE Class 12 board examinations this year, which were conducted between February and April across thousands of centres in the country.

Students can access their scorecards on the official CBSE portals, including CBSE Results and CBSE Official Website.

To check results online, students need to enter their roll number, school number and admit card ID on the official websites.

Among regions, the Trivandrum region recorded the highest pass percentage at 95.62 per cent, while Prayagraj reported the lowest at 72.43 per cent. Delhi West and Delhi East regions registered pass percentages of 92.34 per cent and 91.73 per cent respectively.

The CBSE has not released an official topper list this year as well, continuing its policy of avoiding unhealthy academic competition among students.

Around 1.63 lakh students have been placed in the compartment category this year, accounting for 9.26 per cent of total candidates.
