New Delhi/Bhubaneswar: Chief Minister Mohan Majhi, who is currently on a 4-day trip to Delhi, paid a courtesy visit to Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Friday.
The Chief Minister briefed Union Home Minister Shah on the state’s developmental initiatives, law and order situation, internal security, and various ongoing welfare programme. He also sought the Union Home Minister’s continued support to further strengthen the development process in Odisha.
Chief Minister Majhi expressed his gratitude to the Union Home Minister, highlighting that Odisha has achieved the status of a “Naxal-free state” due to his decisive leadership. He noted that this success in curbing Naxalism has created a conducive environment for the state’s socio-economic development.
To uplift previously Naxal-affected areas, the state government is comprehensively implementing all central and state welfare schemes through ‘Gramodaya Yojana’, he added.
Addressing internal stability, the Chief Minister affirmed that the law and order situation in the state remains firmly under control due to proactive policing.
Discussing the rapid industrialisation in Odisha over the past two years, the Chief Minister requested the Home Ministry’s assistance in industrial security to accelerate this momentum further. He also acknowledged the central government’s assistance in the cooperative sector, thanking Home Minister Shah for direct central support aimed at reviving sugar mills in Odisha.
Chief Minister Majhi asserted that Odisha’s “double-engine government” has successfully earned public trust through direct engagement with citizens and rapid grievance redressal. He further highlighted key developmental and public welfare measures being undertaken across the state.
Union Home Minister Amit Shah commended the state government’s welfare initiatives and assured full cooperation to fulfil the hopes and aspirations of the people of Odisha, a CMO release said.
Majhi also met Union Minister for Railways, Information & Broadcasting, and IT Ashwini Vaishnaw to discuss the expansion and modernisation of the state’s railway network.
According to CM Majhi, thetalks focused on accelerating ongoing railway projects, bolstering infrastructure, and enhancing overall connectivity across Odisha. Highlighting the state’s strategic priorities, he emphasised that robust regional and industrial transport links are crucial to driving economic growth.
