Bhubaneswar: Odisha’s Sports and Youth Services minister Suryabanshi Suraj unveiled the logo, trophy, jersey and anthem of the CM Trophy (Under-15) Football Championship 2025 at the Kalinga Stadium here on Sunday.
The aim of the CM Trophy 2025 — being organised jointly by the Odisha government’s Sports and Youth Services Department and Football Association of Odisha (FAO) – is to nurture sporting talent at grassroots level in Odisha.
The Sports minister said that the state government, under the leadership of chief minister Mohan Charan Majhi, is committed to identify and promote young sporting talent.
The first phase of the tournament, held from January 16 to April 19, saw the participation of 271 clubs and over 5,000 players from all districts of the state.
The zonal level (second phase) of the tournament, to be held from May 28 to June 5, will see teams selected from the districts being grouped into four zones — Sambalpur, Bhubaneswar, Keonjhar and Berhampur. They will compete for a place in the state level final round.
“This championship will be instrumental in identifying exceptional talent from the grassroots level. The newly launched anthem beautifully captures the energy, passion and commitment of young athletes. The Government is committed for the overall development of Sports and athletes in the state,” said Suraj.
FAO secretary Ashirbad Behera, Principal Secretary of Sports & Youth Services department Bhaskar Sarma, Director Deepankar Mohapatra, Additional Secretary Bijay Kumar Swain and Joint Secretary Bijayananda Nayak were present at the event.
