Rourkela: Bargarh FC emerged winners in the inaugural grassroots U-15 football championship in Odisha to lift the CM Trophy.
In an exciting final, Bargarh FC edged out Bhubaneswar FC 3-2 at the Birsa Munda Stadium here on Sunday.
Bhubaneswar had gone into the final with high expectations, having pummelled Nabarangpur 16-0 in the semifinals, while Bargarh had pipped Jajpur FC 2-1.
On Sunday, it was the Bargarh FC boys who had the last laugh to win the coveted trophy and a cash award of Rs 3 lakh. Bhubaneswar FC received Rs 2 lakh.
Sports & Youth Services minister Suryabanshi Suraj presented the awards.

A dream project of Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi, the CM Trophy 2025 began with the U-15 inter-club matches across all 31 districts on January 16. That phase concluded on April 19 after 448 matches. The inter-district stage, which started on May 28, culminated on Sunday, after 52 matches.
With a total of 500 matches played over a span of nearly 5 months, this event has become the largest football tournament ever conducted in Odisha’s history.
CM Majhi congratulated the Bargarh FC team.
“Congratulations to Bargarh FC for its victory in the final of the CM Trophy 2025 football championship. Also wish the best for Bhubaneswar FC and all other teams that participated in the football tournament, organised by the state government,” Majhi said in a post on X.
Bhubaneswar FC earned some consolation with Srijal Kisku being adjudged Player of the Tournament.
Soumya Ranjan Debata, the Bargarh FC goalkeeper, was presented the Player of the Final award.

* Best Defender: Siba Munda (Bargarh FC)
* Best Midfielder: Asish Kumar (Bhubaneswar FC)
* Best Striker: Pradeep Tudu (Bargarh FC).
