Mumbai: Speculation around ‘Cocktail 2’ is gaining momentum, with the buzz being that Deepika Padukone may reprise her iconic role of Veronica in a cameo.
The buzz started after a Reddit post hinted that the actress could have a cameo in the highly-anticipated sequel, triggering a wave of excitement online.
“A few months ago, Deepika was spotted outside Maddock’s office. While everyone was speculating that she was being considered for Mahavatar, the truth is, she was being repeatedly requested to make an appearance as Veronica in the sequel. And she did give her nod and shot her portion somewhere around that time itself. Just cant wait for Veronica to be back,” read the viral Reddit post.
Deepika received widespread appreciation
for her role as Veronica in ‘Cocktail’, with the character becoming a pop culture favourite for her bold and carefree vibe.
‘Cocktail 2’ is a spiritual sequel to the 2012 hit ‘Cocktail’, which featured Saif Ali Khan, Deepika and Diana Penty.
The film has been shot across multiple locations, including Sicily in Italy, as well as parts of Delhi and north India such as Chhatarpur, Gurugram and south Delhi.
Directed by Homi Adajania, the film is produced by Maddock Films and written by Luv Ranjan. It is scheduled for theatrical release on June 19.
Deepika, who recently announced that she is expecting her second child, has two upcoming films, ‘Raaka’ and ‘King’.
Helmed by Atlee, ‘Raaka’ marks Deepika’s first collaboration with Allu Arjun.
Deepika will also be seen in ‘King’, which features Shah Rukh Khan in the lead role.
The film also stars Suhana Khan, Rani Mukerji, Abhishek Bachchan, Arshad Warsi and Manoj Pahwa, among others.
