Ganjam: The executive engineer of Rural Development Department on Monday ordered an inquiry into the collapse of an under- construction bridge over Badanala on Jholari-Manikpur road in Antarpada panchayat under Buguda block of Ganjam district.
However, no injury or casualty was reported in the mishap.
The slab work of the bridge, which is a project of the department, was completed on Sunday.
“The contractor concerned will be held responsible for the incident. He will bear all the expenses of the damage and start reconstruction of the bridge soon,” executive engineer, Ganjam-I, S N Behera said.
