Bhubaneswar: Odisha Vigilance officials apprehended a court Amin in the court of the Tehsildar of Bangomunda in Balangir district on Tuesday for allegedly taking a bribe of Rs 15,000 from an applicant seeking partition of land and issuance of new ROR.
The accused, identified as Nirmalendu Kabi, allegedly took Rs 15,000/- from an applicant for preparation of sketch map and to process file for partition of their landed properties and issuance of new ROR in favour of the respective shareholders.
As per the government rules, the applicant had applied for partition of their land before the competent authority. As per requirement of partition of land, sketch map is a must in respect of each shareholder. Accordingly, the applicant met the Amin and requested him to prepare sketch map as per requirement of partition.
However, Kabi demanded Rs 15,000/- to prepare sketch map and all ancillary works required for partition of land and issuance of separate RORs. Unwilling to pay the demanded bribe, the applicant approached Vigilance authorities. Following this, a team of Vigilance, nabbed Kabi, while taking bribe of Rs 15,000/- from the applicant. The entire tainted bribe money has been recovered from the possession of accused Kabi and seized.
Following the trap, simultaneous searches are going on at three locations linked to Kabi from disproportionate assets angle. A case has been registered and investigation is in progress
