Bhubaneswar: The daily COVID-19 positive cases in the Capital City took another big leap as the figure crossed 100 on Tuesday.
The city, which had witnessed the positive cases jumping from Sunday’s 38 to 75 on Monday, reported 101 cases on Tuesday. However, 33 patients recovered from the disease during the day.
According to Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC), of the new cases, a whopping 80 were from local contacts with the rest traced in quarantine centres. Of the local contacts, maximum 12 cases were reported from Khandagiri, followed by 7 from Rasulgarh, 6 from Old Town and 5 each from Nayapalli, Patia and Sahid Nagar.
The positive tally has now gone up to 32,832 while 32,006 have recovered. The active cases in the city now stand at 555.
