Cuttack: The COVID-19 tally in the Millenium City has touched 1794 with an overnight addition of 73 new cases.
These are among the 76 cases detected in Cuttack district in the last 24 hours, the Cuttack Municipal Corporation (CMC) tweeted on Tuesday.
Among them, 43 are from the containment zone of Jalua Sahi in Malgodown area, where intensive testing and active surveillance are on.
On August 9, CMC Commissioner Ananya Das had informed about 43 positive cases being reported from the area with 24 more testing positive for the virus on that very day. Another 19 cases were reported from Jalua Sahi on August 10.

With this, 105 positive cases have so far been reported from this densely-populated locality.
Of the remaining new cases, 12 are among those in home quarantine while another 13 are from institutional quarantine. The rest five, including a COVID warrior, are local contact cases.
Six more cases have been reported from the isolation ward of SCB Medical College and Hospital here. They include two COVID warriors. Another COVID warrior from Acharya Harihara Post Graduate Institute of Cancer has also tested positive for the virus.
Among the home quarantine cases, eight have been reported from Sutahat in the city.

The CMC also informed about two more patients recovering from the infection.
With 10 deaths and 914 recoveries, Cuttack city now has 870 active cases.
