Bhubaneswar: A day after Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik urged people not to pass on the burden of COVID-19 lockdown onto the women, Minister of School and Mass Education Samir Das was on Tuesday seen in his kitchen helping his wife with cooking.
“While staying at home, refrain from making too many demands. Stick to three meals a day and don’t expect them to prepare fancy food every day,” said Chief Spokesperson of the Odisha government on COVID-19 Subroto Bagchi, while passing on the CM’s message.
Speaking to a local channel, Das said that he could spend some quality time at home because of the lockdown and was preparing batter for ‘pakora’.
“What our CM had pointed out is absolutely right and women are under pressure catering to everyone’s demand amid the lockdown,” he said.
The minister, however, added that he even helped him mother with cooking during festivals while in college.
