COVID-19 Upsurge: Fresh Restrictions At Tourist Sites In This Odisha District
Berhampur: After reporting over 30 new COVID-19 cases for the second day in a row, the Ganjam administration on Friday imposed fresh restrictions in the district to check the spread of the virus.
According to the tweet on the official handle of Ganjam Collector, Gopalpur and Sunapur beaches will remain closed on Saturdays and Sundays. Similarly, Ramalingeshwar park and Tampara lake will be closed on Mondays.
Maa Taratarini temple will remain closed every Wednesday for sanitisation. Disinfection of the premises will be done twice a week at night after the doors are closed for the devotees. The administration had earlier prohibited feasts outside and in the nearby areas of the temple. The ‘Mundan’ ritual was also banned at the Tara Tarini temple.
On Thursday, Section 144 was clamped from Buddhi Thakurani temple to the temporary abode (Asthai Mandir) at Desibehera Street here from 6 pm and at the Rushikulya and Bada Nadi near Aska prohibiting the traditional Baruni Sanan.
