Bhubaneswar: The pandemic has taught young children many lessons and generosity is one among them. Staying at home, young children are exposed to the world of news where people’s sufferings has made them value the small treasures of life.

Prithvi Sarathi Routroy, a Class-4 student of SAI International School is one such child.

The child donated Rs 10,351 from his piggy bank to the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund. Prithvi, along with his parents, handed over his birthday savings to Chief Secretary Suresh Chandra Mahapatra at Lok Seva Bhawan.

Presenting the cheque, Prithvi said, “Our Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik is doing many things for children like me. He has done park and play ground for us. He is also making Special Covid hospital for children. I saved from my pocket money and also stopped birthday party to arrange this tiny contribution”.

His parents Niharika and Partha Sarathi too expressed their happiness over their child’s gesture for the society through his little efforts.

Complementing the child for his good work, Mahapatra advised him to inculcate COVID appropriate habits and persuade his friends to follow the same.
