Briefing mediapersons here, he said that the preliminary trial of the vaccine on animals is underway. If the trial is successful, there will be another trial and if it is successful, the vaccine will be available for human use by February next year.

Parida further informed said the Centre has asked six research laboratories, including ILS, to conduct anti-virus test from August.

He also maintained that there is no community transmission of COVID-19 in Ganjam district.

“The Ganjam collector claims that there is no COVID-19 case in about 92 per cent villages while active contact tracing of the infected people in the remaining villages is being done expeditiously. In such cases, it cannot be said that there is community transmission in the district,” Parida pointed out.
