Cow’s Jaw Blown Away After It Chews Bomb In Odisha’s Berhampur

Berhampur: The inhuman methods of poaching have led to painful death of precious animals. The death of a pregnant elephant after eating a cracker-stuffed fruit in Kerala last year had created a outburst over the cruel practices but there seems to be no end to it.

Use of crude bomb to keep wild boars away from agriculture fields still continues in Ganjam district.

In an incident similar to Kerala, a cow’s jaw was blown away after it accidentally chewed a crude bomb mistaking it for a fruit.

The incident took place at Kendupat village 7-km away from Khallikote town in Ganjam. The cow’s owner Sudur Rout said, she had given birth to a calf barely 10 days back.

Police reached the spot for an inquiry after Sudur lodged an FIR at  Khallikote police station and also named the person behind the incident in the FIR.

According to police, the cow was grazing in an agricultural field when the incident occurred. It is suspected that the bomb was concealed in some food item to hunt wild-boar that damage crops.
